“What you are looking at is really what you see; a mousetrap.” The artist takes advantage of a distracted observer contemplating the artwork to set a bait. Neither the architecture, nor even the cheese, are real. They are nothing more than a mousetrap; a trompe l’oeil for a curious rodent. An intentional magic trick that distracts and confuses perception in order to catch its attention and delve into the most intimate emotions.
